Welcome to the Macaw View!

Our most fundamental asset is life itself. Everything we do depends on the health of our ecosystems and all living things in it.

Since 1970, wildlife population sizes have declined by over 70% on average. Governments and societies will to have transform how they operate to ensure future prosperity, security and economic resilience. At the rate we're currently going, global biodiversity loss threatens to bring about:

  • greater disruptions to global food and other supply chains
  • lack of access to quality air, water and healthcare
  • stronger migration pressures, geopolitical conflict and high prices driven by resource scarcity

The Macaw View is an independent publication shedding light on the politics, money and innovation around global biodiversity. As governments and organisations develop nature protection strategies, we aim to bring simple-language, evidenced reporting to support genuine progress on halting and reversing global biodiversity loss.
